Why did my Wii controller stop working

I haven't played my Wii in the past couple of months. The other day I decided to turn it back on and mess around with it. One of my controllers won't come on. I've tried two different rechargeable battery packs, rechargeable batteries and regular batteries. My other controller comes on fine. Anyone else have a problem like this where their controller just stopped working and is there any way to fix it?
I tried 3 different types of batteries. I'm pretty sure one set would be fully charged, don't ya think?

I'll give you a real answer. Try syncing the remote to the system. Open the little door in the front of the wii and take off the battery cover on the remote. Press both red buttons. It may take a couple seconds but the blue lights on the remote should come on. If that doesnt work, look at the troubleshooting guide. If all that fails, buy a new one. It might just be something defective inside the remote. The syncing method should work though.
