Mortal Kombat
Mortal Kombat

The early days of fighting games consisted of the classic arcade screen and kids with pockets full of quarters who had a killer instinct in their eyes. There was a passion flaunted all over their faces as well as an evident joy knowing that they were about to battle over a 2D experience like Street Fighter 2 (a Capcom classic), and choosing a fighter of their choice who they have spent hours and much of their parents money to master.
Fast-forward to 2010 and it's a totally new experience with arcades on the out and the brink of total extinction in the United States especially. Â The days of heavy pockets full of quarters are long gone. The new environment we enjoy is in front of our flat screen TV, with a controller in hand, while munching on our snack of choice. The days of looking our opponent in the eye after hitting them with a hadouken to the face are over.
Game developers like Capcom have decided to keep their fans coming back to the 2D old school fighting experience but with 3D character models. Â This is unique with most developers on the 3D environment train, and many thought that Capcom's return to the 2D environment could be a risky idea. The 3D platform being the new choice for years now, with Mortal Kombat even moving to a 3D environment. The fighters like Tekken having such a huge fan base. Yet there was a huge love and base our there just waiting for a return to 2D. The release of Street Fighter 4 last year and it's huge success has proven that the 2D fighting model is not the past and very much alive.
A recent announcement, which has come with a large bang, was the announcement of Street Fighter X Tekken, a co-op project between Capcom and Namco. The excitement alone to imagine the possibility of a Blanka VS King and so many other endless possibilities has many fans drooling. The thing that gets me most excited about the project is that it is actually two titles. One developed by Capcom; with there 2D environments and 3D character models; the other by Namco, with their classic Tekken 3D environment and character design. This will mean a 2D and 3D head to head battle on the sales charts.
The recent success of 2D games like Street Fighter 4 has inspired other fighting classics such as Mortal Kombat to return to their 2D classic roots, with their own new title in development confirmed a 2D experience. Do you think it's just the classics that the fans want to remain in 2D such as Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat? Does this mean that fighters thrive in 2D and that the 3D world is best left for RPG's and action adventure games, and shooters? Will sales of these 2D games finally settle the argument? How do you prefer to apply your beat downs to your friends: in 2D or 3D?

I have been playing the new Mortal Kombat series on Playstation 2 and I am now playing Deception. The only problem is I can't play conquest mode. It says I need a code, so how do I get the option to play konquest?
u have to create ur own profile and it will ask for a code(its like a password) then push one of the shoulder buttons(it will say which one in the bottom corners)and insert ur code , ur profile will be loaded, and then u can play konquest
