I wanna have a nintendog puppy, but do i have to have a rose?

I have a nintendogs game and i want my dogs to have a puppy. one of my dogs is friendly and the other one rarely gets into fights. but do they always have to have rose?? I dont have a rose in my game. I searched for a whole hour and i didnt find it. i know what to do, but do i have to have a rose to have a nintendog puppy?

Okay this sometimes works for me but you need to:
-have 2 dogs of the same breed; one male, one female
-only feed them milk and dry food
-only take the male dog on walks
-make sure the dogs both have friendly personalities and they bond and play together
-repeat this routine at least once a day until she has puppies

i am not sure about the rose, i dont think you have to have it.
