Why does the "check charging system" light come on?
I have a Mercury Sable 2005 and the "check charging system" light is coming on.
The battery is brand new, just replaced and the alternator has been rebuilt and had the voltage regulator replaced. The mechanic can find no further problems with the alternator, and the battery is good, but the "check charging system" light keeps coming on. I have reset the system indicator and it still says to "check charging system" although the alternator and battery are clearly working without any problem.
Anyone have a clue what could be making this message show up?
