Some people get the blues during winter and they have a difficult time motivating themselves to get to the gym. Others may self-medicate their doldrums with snacks loaded with carbohydrates.

If any of this sounds like you, it may be time for a change now, as winter draws to a close. The first step is to assess the battle you have created for yourself. Hop on the gram scale or weighing scales in your home and see how much damage you did over the winter season. Even a few pounds can make a big difference in how you look and feel. You can also try on a few of your favorite summer outfits to see what needs to be done to have you looking svelte and fit in these clothes. Once you know what you are up against, you can put together a fitness plan that, if begun now, will have you feeling and looking your best in a few months when swimsuit season rolls around. All it takes is a bit of motivation and a desire to improve your health and your appearance.

Whether it is a few pounds you need to lose or a bit more than that, it is important to add exercise into your fitness plan. This is especially true if you change your eating habits drastically and you lose a large amount of weight in a short time. You want to build muscle while losing fat, otherwise you will find your body flabby and without shape. In some cases all you will need is a boost in exercise. A firm, toned body that is a few pounds overweight may be more attractive and feel better than being your ideal weight and not having the ability to make it up the stairs without getting winded. Even if the weather is still too cold and miserable to get outside working out, you can create a workout plan indoors. Join a gym or use exercise videos in the privacy of your own home. If you are not great at following rules, you may want to fit exercise into your day in other ways. Use the staircase in your home more than usual, park further away from your destination so you walk more, and use housecleaning as an exercise tool.

Once you are up and about, you may only need a few adjustments to your diet to make a big difference. Make an attempt to tame your sweet tooth, cut back on white flour like that found in pasta and white bread and eliminate sodas and high calories juices. In no time at all you will be ready to slip into your swimsuit.

Tips on how to keep my hair straightener in great shape?

hi i just bought a new Solia straightener and it was $88 so i wanna make sure it will stay in good shape and last for atleast over a year..hopefully more than one. what are some ways to keep it in great condition to ensure it wont break or get damaged?

My suggestion is to avoid using gels, hair sprays, or wet hair ( even if its a wet to dry straightener ) on it. Doing that will make the heated places on the straightener all textured like sandpaper and it will split your hair.

Clean your hair straightener after usage by the end of the day. Un-plugged, most definitely. Wipes that aren't soaked in the cleaner, like wet ones, will clean off the hair product residue and the dead hair.

Consider buying a mat to lay your straightener down when its not being used so the hair straightener doesn't pickup on any bacteria or germs. Also keep it in a place you know it'll be safe, but quick to find. Like a cabinet under the sink.
